Eco Printing & Sangria Happy Hour

Tune into the beauty of the natural world in this eco-printing workshop! Eco-printing is the method of transferring a plant's colors onto fabric using heat and water. Guests will learn to create prints and dyes from natural materials such as flowers, leaves, walnuts, mushrooms, onion skins, avocado pits, and more. They’ll learn about the eco-printing process, origins, and the benefits of natural dyes compared to synthetic dyes. Guests will make their own eco-printed scarf or bandana made of silk or wool cloth, and gain the know-how to make more eco-print art at home.

Optional workshop addition: Go on a nature walk with our guide in a local park or forest to learn about and collect your very own natural materials for dyeing and printing. 

This class includes: 

  • A selection of flowers, leaves, and botanical matter 

  • Silk or wool bandanas and scarves

  • Twine and all other dyeing materials needed 

  • Chairs and tables set up

This show is exciting, funny, and interactive, as Alan pulls people from the virtual audience to help with his act. No camera magic here, this show is designed to be done on Zoom, and features many innovative tricks!

Join Sysdig for an afternoon of live music featuring KATZROAR local band. 

We’ll have lite bites and drinks.

KATZROAR is an Oakland, CA-based trio formed of Katy Avila on vocals & bass, Rory Matthews on guitar, and Phil Steinwebber on drums. Their music combines poetic lyrics and rich vocals with silky, atmospheric guitar and laid-back grooves to create a unique yet familiar tapestry of dreamy soul psychedelia.

Chef Daniel is passionate about cooking and sharing his knowledge with students, in this class, he will walk you through the fundamentals and work with you to improve on your pizza cooking skills.

Tea Blending

Set the tone for the morning, afternoon or evening with your own custom blend of tea. Join Berkeley-based Herbalist Lauren Jones for an introduction to herbal tea, and guided instruction on how to blend your own herbal teas. Lauren will cover the principles of herb blending, discuss taste combinations & ratios, review the various medicinal values or teas, and dig into the overall brew method.

Lauren is a wellness educator with a Masters in Science of Oriental Medicine, who incorporates herbal teas into her daily life.

Your kit will include materials to make two signature blends!
