Class Overview: In this 90-minute class Max will pull back the curtain on his songwriting process. He will dive into an existing slenderbodies song and reverse engineer the creative process. Cocktails 101 with Anne Hildebrand!
We are starting with the most basic and classic of foundational cocktail recipes: The Old Fashioned. Once you understand the structure of this cocktail, you can play with the elements and go as wild as you wish! In order to participate in mixing, you should have on hand at least one of each of the following:
Whiskey (bourbon, rye or wheat whiskey = yes. Canadian, Irish or Scotch = no) or Aged Rum (añejo or gold = yes; silver, spiced or dark rum = no)
Sugar, maple syrup, agave syrup, or whatever sweetener you fancy
Bitters (Angostura is the gold standard here)
(highly recommended bonus) A fresh orange and a peeler
Bonus ingredients for experimenting - only have these ready if you love making cocktails or they've been sitting in your cabinet forever and you just want to use them! They're 100% bonus for those who want to experiment further: Campari, Kahlua or other coffee liquor, Sweet (red) Vermouth, Orange bitters or other kinds of bitters, absinthe, mint.
