Your instructor-

Lauren Kaneko-Jones is a Licensed Acupuncturist and clinical herbalist. Her love of East Asian medicine began long ago when she lived in New York City. At that time, East Asian medicine and acupuncture provided supportive healing. Over the years she has taught classes on herbalism, seasonal nutrition, seasonal health and enjoys incorporating education into the clinic.

She is an herb and food lover. She integrates simple ways for you to be healthy through herb and nutrition counseling. The more accessible to you, the better the medicine.

She treats patients with acupuncture at Mitchell Family Acupuncture in Berkeley, CA. She also teaches workshops on seasonal wellness, herbalism, bone broth basics all of which are rooted in East Asian medicine.

Wellness Talk with Tara

Our bodies and brains are amazing things! You may have heard that we run on daily “internal clocks,” known as circadian rhythms, that control our sleep cycles. As it turns out, these cycles tell us much more than when to sleep; they control our moods and energy levels throughout the day, and are affected by numerous factors. In this talk, you’ll hear from Tara Zinnamon, Ph.D., a neuroscience and mindfulness instructor, as she explains how various influences in our day-to-day life can affect our circadian rhythm, and hence our overall wellbeing. She’ll discuss how modifications to our routines surrounding light, temperature, food, movement, and meditation can improve our immune system, focus, and general quality of life, both when asleep and awake. At the end of this discussion you’ll be armed with a cache of new tools to help you prioritize your wellbeing and work with your circadian rhythm, rather than against it. We’ll gladly take credit for any subsequent boost in your work performance!
