Adventure Day at Devil’s Thumb Ranch
Join us for a day of winter activities! At Devil’s Thumb Ranch guests are invited to participate in real, authentic ranch adventures from winter horseback riding, and ice skating, to fat tire mountain biking, and more on over 6,500 acres of Rocky Mountain wilderness.
Sample Itinerary
8:00am Pick up at Denver HQ
10:00am Arrive at Devils Thumb Ranch
10:00-11:00am Light bites at Hallowed Grounds Coffee Shop,
They offer freshly-baked breakfast pastries and bread from our bakery, a full selection of coffee, latte, chai, juice, beer, wine and more, plus daily selections of sandwiches.
11:00-2:00pm Pick and Choose Activities from include; Winter horse back riding with hot drinks and s’mores to follow or go on a Private guided Fat tire biking tour with breathtaking views of the snowy Colorado Mountains and more.
2:00-3:30pm Lunch at the Ranch House Restaurant,
Located in the original homestead that was built on the Ranch in the 1930s, Ranch House Restaurant sits rather unpretentiously on the edge of a sweeping meadow with the Continental Divide 4,000 feet above and worn pine floors below serving New American Mountain Cuisine.
3:30pm Bus back to Denver HQ
5:00pm Arrive back to Denver HQ
Winter Horseback Riding
Experience our “Wild West” the cowboy way exploring snowy Colorado mountain wilderness on a winter horseback ride or sleigh ride! Whether it’s your first time in the saddle or you’re an expert, we have horseback riding activities for all experience levels. The expert wranglers at Cabin Creek Stables take the time and care to teach each rider the basics, help them mount their horse, and show them an unforgettable time on scenic trails through a winter wonderland and then end the day with hot drinks and s’mores.
Guided Fat Tire Biking Tour
Continue mountain biking in the winter with fat tire biking. The bike’s oversized front and rear tires with aggressive tread make it possible to ride over packed snow. Fat tire bike rentals provide a great way to get out and enjoy a scenic selection of our Devil’s Thumb Ranch’s award-winning Nordic trail system.
Snowshoeing
Whether you prefer a leisurely tour across a meadow or a spirited romp through the woods, snowshoeing at Devil’s Thumb Ranch allows you the chance to enjoy our scenery and get great exercise! Theres more than 20km of marked snowshoe trails.
Red Rocks Amazing Race
Join us for a day at Red Rocks! Challenge your team to an incredible outdoor adventure race in an exciting, and fun format in and around the historic Colorado music venue of Red Rock Amphitheater, while building on communication, problem solving and bonding through teamwork with a series of exciting, and challenging adventures hosted by a professional educator/guide. Built to be attainable by any participant.

8:00am Pick up from Denver HQ
8:30am Arrive at Red Rocks Park Amphiteater
8:30-1:30pm Amazing Race Challenge, group experience that allows participants to get to know each other better and enjoy a day outside of the office. Snacks and water provided.
1:30-2:30pm Lunch at Ship Rock Grille,
Built around two massive boulders both inside and on the patio, Ship Rock Grille, located in the Red Rocks Visitor Center, features a delectable menu matched only by the stunning scenery. Spend a sunny afternoon on the deck surrounded by breathtaking vistas and the occasional wildlife.
3:00pm - Bus back to Denver HQ
On the way home take the Lariat Loop Scenic Byway, a 40-mile route in the foothills west of Denver, Colorado. The Lariat Loop is a combination of two historic routes: the Lariat Trail Scenic Mountain Drive ascending Lookout Mountain and the Bear Creek Canyon Scenic Mountain Drive.
